Bossa Nova
Abruzzo, Italy
Montepulciano and other native grape varieties of Abruzzo reinterpreted
When you first meet Nat Colantonio and Andrea Quaglia, you immediately sense a vibrant vibe. The same passion, creativity, and soul are reflected in the Bossanova wine palette. Their journey began unexpectedly with a chance encounter in a bar. They quickly discovered shared dreams, and with Andrea's grandfather's winemaking expertise as their guide, they courageously left their respective careers behind to embark on an adventure.
In 2018, Bossanova was born on a one-hectare plot in Contoguerra, Abruzzo—the very same plot planted by Andrea's grandfather in the 1970s. Today, Bossanova extends over nine hectares of vineyards, nestled between the Adriatic Sea and the majestic Gran Sasso d'Italia mountains.
Their flagship, the impressive Montepulciano, is highly regarded, but Nat and Andrea tirelessly champion lesser-known grape varieties. Their collection includes some unique varieties and blends, including three different Trebbiano versions: the classic "Trebbiano," the intriguing skin-contact "Swing," and the fun and fresh "Capsule Two," a delightful Petit Nat. Not to be forgotten are the refreshing "Cerasulo Rose" and "Unrouge," a red blend that's wonderfully uncomplicated.
Bossanova's wines are certified organic and produced with minimal intervention. Immerse yourself in the world of Bossanova and enjoy the distinctive creations that make their wines unique and fabulous!
