Pernanno Riserva Barolo DOCG 2016 75cl
The Barolo DOCG Riserva 'Pernanno' Vecchie Viti is a remarkable single-vineyard wine from Sobrero Francesco's Pernanno cru vineyard. It is made from 77-year-old vines, which lends this fine wine an enchanting touch. It has a brilliant ruby red color and reveals a bouquet of wild red fruits, complemented by subtle notes of leather, cocoa, and dried mushrooms. On the palate, it displays richness and structure, accompanied by earthy undertones and a refreshing, lingering finish. The Pernanno vineyard is located in Castiglione Falletto at an altitude of 350 meters, facing southeast on sandy-stony, calcareous soil. The grapes were hand-harvested from old vines. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were fermented and macerated for 50 days in temperature-controlled wooden vats. Malolactic fermentation took place in cement tanks, followed by aging in 25 hectolitre oak barrels for at least 36 months. The wine was bottled without filtration.
