Lagar de Pedregales is about family, place and carrying tradition forward without standing still. Today, third-generation winemaker Alba Martínez leads the winery, bringing fresh ideas while keeping the same respect for the vineyards that started it all.

The story began in 1980, when her grandfather, Mario Guerreiro Carnero, planted his first Albariño vines in O Rosal. Even then, his focus was on quality over quantity, with an approach that was unusually modern for its time.

Today, Albariño and other local varieties grow here on slate, schist and sandy soils. Some vines are over 40 years old, the vineyards are carefully tended by hand, and the grapes are handled with as little intervention as possible.

Alba studied Oenology in Portugal before returning home to continue her family’s work. In the cellar, she combines experience with precision. Stainless steel, concrete and oak are used thoughtfully, always with the aim of preserving freshness, fruit and a sense of place.

Her approach: intervene only when needed and give the grapes room to speak.

The result is Albariño with energy and clarity. Some wines are young, fresh and direct. Others spend longer on their lees, developing more texture and depth.
