Pottarello means "little boy" in the Umbrian dialect. A name that deceives, because this wine brings plenty of character to the glass. Sangiovese forms the backbone, Malvasia Nera adds freshness and Colorino contributes a touch of spice.
Deep ruby red in colour, the nose combines red and black cherries with wild berries and subtle spice. On the palate, Pottarello is powerful and structured, with ripe tannins, juicy fruit and a long, harmonious finish.
The organically farmed vineyards sit on limestone and clay hills around Todi in Umbria. After hand harvesting, the grapes ferment in stainless steel before ageing for twelve months in 500-litre French oak barrels and a further nine months in bottle.
