Pistus is a light and elegant volcanic red wine made from the classic indigenous grapes of Etna: Nerello Mascalese (80%) and Nerello Cappuccio (20%).
Fresh and fruity, with floral notes on the nose and light tannins. If you like Pinot, you'll love this.
The vineyard for Pistus is located at an altitude of 700 meters in Contrada Muganazzi, on the north side of Mount Etna. The grapes were harvested by hand, with whole bunches macerated before fermentation in steel tanks, which included seven days of fermentation. The wine aged for 15 months in stainless steel tanks and then rested in the bottle for three months.
Goes well with: meat, poultry, dishes with tomato sauce, fatty fish, pasta, cheese
