Doyle IGP Sauvignon 2022 75cl
Doyle is an aromatic, dry white wine made from the typical Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. The wine has a golden yellow color and exudes an enticing bouquet of citrus fruits blended with spices. This delightful interplay continues on the palate, complemented by a lively, crisp acidity. The wine and the Doyle label are dedicated to Sergeant William Doyle of the Welsh Guards, who led his men into the historic Battle of Monte Grande in Arce in 1944. Today, the people of Arce fondly remember the exchange of wine for bread with the Welsh guards. The Doyle plot is located in the vineyards of Arce, Lazio, on limestone and clay soils. The grapes were hand-harvested, selected, and brought to the winery for spontaneous fermentation, with some skin contact with native yeasts. The wine was then aged in amphorae for seven months before bottling. This wine is neither fined nor filtered.
