Ambré AOP Riversaltes 2003 50cl
The Ambré is a delicious "sticky" dessert wine. It is amber-gold in color and reveals seductively bold flavors of brandy, mingling with candied, burnt oranges, orange peel, and toffee. On the palate, it transforms, revealing layers of gingerbread, pistachios, and hints of raisins and vanilla. Its velvety smoothness leads to a lingering finish that makes it irresistibly easy to savor every drop in the bottle. The vineyard for the Ambré is located in Le Soler, on chalky clay soil with river pebbles. This wine was produced by spontaneous fermentation with a period of maceration on the skins before fermentation was stopped for the addition of alcohol. The wine was aged and oxidized in open-air barrels for 7 years. Pairs well with: This is a versatile sweet wine. It can be paired with foie gras as an appetizer, with blue cheese, or with a sweet dessert. It's also perfect for a cozy drink at the end of a dinner party. Aging Potential: Delicious now, this wine also has remarkable aging potential.
