La Coronela 2020 75cl
From Ribera del Duero, La Coronela is a fresh and balanced Tempranillo dominated by dark fruits, licorice, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is well-structured, expansive, and persistent, finishing with a touch of balsamic and peppery notes. La Coronela's label reads: "Dedicated to La Coronela: Generous. Brave. A fighter." Coronela means "Colonel," the nickname of Barbara's grandmother, whose vineyard is the source of this subtle and vibrant expression of a Ribera del Duero wine. The grapes were hand-harvested from 60-year-old vines in Roa de Duero. In the winery, the grapes were fermented with indigenous yeasts, with 15% of the grapes fermented whole bunch and 45 days on the skins. The wine was then racked directly into barrels, where it aged in oak for 10 months. This wine is unfiltered. Pairs well with: Versatile. Pairs well with meat, poultry, pizza, pasta, cheese, and charcuterie. Serving: Serve at room temperature. Aging potential: Drink now or age until 2035.
