Las Pedreras

Las Pedreras
Cebreros, Spain
The rising star among Spanish highland wines
Las Pedreras is a new project in Spain's emerging Sierra de Gredos, a mountainous region west of Madrid. Led by Bárbara Requejo Frutos and her husband Guzmán Sánchez de la Parra, the project has made a name for itself by producing sophisticated wines from a variety of old vineyards in the Cebreros region. Their impressive first vintage dates back to 2020.
With an excellent resume that has seen her work in prestigious regions such as Bordeaux, Champagne, the Sonoma Coast, and New Zealand, and her profound knowledge of the Cebreros terroir, Barbara applies her viticultural expertise to craft wines that are both vibrant and rooted in their terroir. Her remarkable blend of determination and talent adds a refreshing touch.
Las Pedreras boasts a diverse range of two delicate and elegant red wines made from Garnacha (Grenache): Los Arroyuelos, sourced from 25 plots of 70-year-old vines, and Petito Lindo, sourced from three high-altitude plots at 1,000 meters above sea level, a wine that continues to evolve after uncorking. Arquitón, a Garnacha rosé, is made from 70-year-old vines. And Linarejos, a white wine featuring the native Albillo grape, comes from a century-old vineyard.
La Coronela, a red wine made predominantly from Tempranillo, is a tribute to Bárbara's grandmother and comes from 60-year-old vines from their shared hometown in Ribera del Duero.
Las Pedreras' wines are organically farmed with low intervention and, of course, produced in very small batches. This dynamic duo undoubtedly commands attention and offers a delightful journey that promises great things for the future.
