Las Pedreras is the rising star in Spain's burgeoning Sierra de Gredos, a mountainous region west of Madrid. Barbara Requejo Frutos is the young and talented winemaker behind this boutique project, artfully demonstrating her expertise by crafting elegant high-altitude wines. Pelito Lindo is an expression of the terroir of Navahondilla, the small sub-region within the village of Villanueva de Ávila, situated at an altitude of 1000 m. It is a complex, elegant, and profound wine that constantly transforms in the glass. It begins modestly with blueberries and spices, then blossoms into the vineyard's wild herbs—thyme, lavender, and rockrose. On the palate, it is well-structured, with tannins that harmonize with the fruit and pepper notes, and high acidity that ensures sustained freshness. The grapes were hand-harvested from various plots on pink granite-sand soils. Each plot was vinified separately using different methods. Some were vinified entirely or partially with whole bunches, while others were 100% destemmed. The wine was aged in oak barrels for 10 months and is unfiltered. Pairing: Versatile.
