JACQUESSON is somewhat of a revolutionary producer in the Champagne world. With a rich history spanning over two centuries, the 700 Series saw its inception in the year 2000, thanks to the visionary efforts of brothers Laurent and Jean Hervé Chiquet. They had a goal to make the finest possible wine each year. This is a non-vintage series but with a twist - the goal is not to make an identical wine year after year, rather, the goal is to make the best and most expressive wine using the majority of vintage in the blend. The remainder is made up of reserve wine from previous 700 blends.
The series began in 2000 with No. 728, simply because this was the next administrative blend number to be assigned in their record books. Hence, the Cuvée numbering has followed suit. Cuvée No. 746 is mostly the 2018 vintage and a special blend of grapes sourced from 5 different Grand and Premier Cru plots.
The grapes were hand harvested and spontaneously fermented in wooden barrels. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged on fine lees with regular stirring. Dosage: Disgorgment by hand. 2g/L.
Food Pairing: Don’t be shy. While Champagne is great with appetisers, it pairs well will a lot of dishes.
Serve: Serve well chilled
