Located at the base of the Corbières in Roussillon, you'll discover Château de Jau. Originally established in the 1970s by Bernard and Sabine Dauré, who undertook a remarkable renovation and replanting of the estate, it is now managed by their son, Simon. This land is steeped in history, spanning ten centuries. Its origins trace back to the 12th century when Cistercian monks founded the abbey, naming it ‘Jau’. They diligently cultivated vines and olive trees under the protective watchtower they erected, which still stands today. Over the years, the estate has changed hands multiple times, even serving as a silkworm farm at one point.

The Dauré family's visionary spirit led them to pioneer wine tourism, boasting the first winegrower's restaurant in France and an on-site modern art gallery housed in the former silkworm farm. It's a historical and sensorial experience that captivates visitors.

Château de Jau produces classic southern red grapes like Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, along with white varieties such as Vermentino, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Their "jaja" range offers single-grape expressions, for everyday easy drinking, with labels designed by renowned French painter Ben Voutier. This range is also conveniently available in a larger bag in box format. The Cuvée J line, featuring different blends, is approachable and fresh. For a touch of complexity, the 1er red and white varieties spend some time aging in oak barrels.
