Domaine du Haut Bourg, located south of Nantes in the heart of the Loire Valley, is managed by fourth-generation winemakers, brothers Hervé and Nicolas Choblet. It was in 1945 that their great-grandfather, a Great War veteran, transitioned the family from cattle farming to crafting exceptional dry white wines in the western Loire Valley.

This region is at the heart of the Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieu appellation, dedicated to white wines from the Melon de Bourgogne grape, often referred to as Melon B or Melon. This grape is in the shadows of the better known Sauvignon Blanc of Loire Valley. Importantly, Muscadet is not to be confused with Muscat (Moscato), the slightly sweet style from Piemonte. In contrast, Melon B produces crisp white wines characterised by citrus and apple notes, with a subtle hint of sea salt.

Domaine du Haut Bourg boasts a diverse selection of white wines, including their Signature Muscadet, aged for six years in underground vats with lees (residual yeast particles), resulting in a complex blend of citrus, peach, and pear notes. Their Sauvignon and Grolleau Gris varieties offer aromatic profiles with tropical fruit and floral undertones.

Their Rosé Grolleau bursts with red berry flavours, while the Gamay showcases a delightful blend of red and black fruits with a hint of spice, best enjoyed chilled.
