Palazzo Tronconi is dedicated to revitalising ancient Italian vineyards and crafting biodynamic wines from forgotten and rare indigenous grapes. This relatively new and inspiring project is led by Marco Marrocco.
‘Fatia’, derived from the local Arcese dialect where this wine originates, signifies 'effort' and serves as a nod to the dedicated care that goes into crafting this wine. It is an aromatic dry white wine crafted from the Malvasia Putinata and Trebbiano grapes. This wine is golden yellow in the glass opening up to a fruity and floral perfume on the nose, complemented by a blend of citrus notes. On the palate, it offers a refreshingly crisp profile with a subtly savoury finish.
The plot for Fatia is located on the hillside vineyards of Arce, Lazio, on limestone and clay soils. The grapes were hand harvested, selected and brought to the winery for spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts. The wine was then aged for 12 months in concrete tanks before bottling. This wine is not fined, nor filtered.
