Finca els Gorgs embodies excellence in long-aged Cava, offering a delicious and intricately layered experience. Its clean aroma reveals notes of white fruit, brioche and spices with hints of cream and smokey notes. The palate blossoms with complexity, revealing white fruit and pastry flavours embraced by invigorating acidity and a luxurious, creamy texture.
Finca els Gorgs is a blend of Macabeu and Xarel.lo grapes. The grapes were hand harvested from 80 year old vines in an organically farmed vineyard within the Costers d’Ordal sub-zone. This wine is made using the Traditional Method of sparkling i.e. the same process used in the Champagne region. It’s labour intensive because it requires 2 rounds of fermentation (one to make the wine, the other for the bubbles). The base wine was fermented and aged for 7 months. Following the second fermentation, this wine gracefully matured in the bottle for 8.5 years, resting on its fine lees, imparting the delightful party and brioche flavours that distinguish it.
AT Roca crafts 3 different ranges of Cavas, all with zero dosing (Brut Nature), and varied by grapes, vineyard sourcing and aging times.
