Palazzo Tronconi is dedicated to revitalising ancient Italian vineyards and crafting biodynamic wines from forgotten and rare indigenous grapes. This relatively new and inspiring project is led by Marco Marrocco.
Gizziello is a tribute to the renowned Italian soprano castrato opera singer, Gioacchino Conti, affectionately known by the nickname ‘Gizziello’. This is a fun, expressive and rosé Pet-Nat made from the native Lecinaro grape. It’s a delicate light pink in tint, with floral and citrus aromas that seamlessly carry over to the palate, accompanied by lively acidity and playful effervescence.
The plot for Gizziello is located on the hillside vineyards of Arce, Lazio, on limestone and clay soils. The grapes were hand harvested, selected and brought to the winery for spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts. This sparkling wine was made using the ancestral method so fermentation was completed in then bottle. After bottling, the wine was rested for 6 months. This wine is not fined, nor filtered.
