Luigi Giordano is a pioneering family winery crafting timeless classics from the heart of Barbaresco, Piedmont.

Lange Freisa is a luscious and effortless red wine representing outstanding value. This wine is an intense ruby purple shade, unveiling vivacious aromas of ripe dark cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and plums, subtly seasoned with hints of herbs. On the palate, the fruit is lively, underpinned by grippy tannins and culminating in a subtly savoury finish.

Freisa, a close relative of the Nebbiolo grape, offers a slightly more fruit-forward experience, making it a fascinating comparison to experiment with.

Langhe Freisa is sourced from a vineyard in the sub-zone of Barbaresco, called ’Valle dei Salici’, meaning ‘Valley of the Willows’. The grapes were harvested from 50 year old vines.  Once at the winery, the grapes were destemmed and fermented, including 10-15 days on their skins without temperature control. This was followed by racking and malolactic fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. The wine was aged for 1 year in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
