Las Pedreras represents a fresh endeavour in Spain’s most up and coming Sierra de Gredos, a mountainous region west of Madrid. The project, led by Bárbara Requejo Frutos and her husband Guzmán Sánchez de la Parra, has gained recognition for crafting refined wines from a diverse range of old vineyards within the Cebreros region. Their impressive first vintage was in 2020. 

With an esteemed résumé working in renowned regions like Bordeaux, Champagne, Sonoma Coast, and New Zealand, combined with her profound knowledge of the Cebreros terroir, Barbara infuses her winemaking expertise into crafting wines that are both vibrant and rooted in their terroir. Her remarkable blend of determination and talent adds a refreshing touch to the scene.

Las Pedreras boasts a diverse range featuring two delicate and elegant Garnacha (Grenache) reds: Los Arroyuelos, sourced from 25 plots of 70-year-old vines, and Petito Lindo, sourced from three high-altitude plots at 1000 meters, a wine that continually evolves once uncorked. Arquitón, a Garnacha Rosé, is crafted from 70-year-old vines. And Linarejos, a white wine that showcases the indigenous Albillo grape, sourced from a century-old vineyard. 

La Coronela, a predominantly Tempranillo red wine, is a nod to Bárbara’s Grandmother, and sourced from 60 year old vines from their shared hometown in Ribera del Duero. 

Las Pedreras wines are organically farmed with low intervention, and naturally, of very small production quantities. This dynamic duo undoubtedly commands attention, offering a delightful journey as they expand and evolve.
