At an impressive altitude of 900 meters in Ribera del Duero, you’ll discover Marta Maté, founded by Marta Castrillo and César Maté. Their journey began modestly in 2008, crafting just 3000 bottles. But their very first creation, Primordium, catapulted them into the spotlight with an impressive 95 Parker points. Since then, they've continued to grow, expanding their collection of award-winning wines.

Marta and César embarked on this adventure with a clear vision: craft outstanding small batch wines from exceptional locations and with minimal intervention. Their Gumiel de Mercado vineyard, situated in a tiny Ribera del Duero village, boasts both old vines (some over a century old) alongside newer ones and benefits from 16 different soil types.

Specialising in Tempranillo, known as Tinto Fino in Ribera del Duero, Marta Maté showcases a variety of expressions and experiences. From the youthful, lively fruitiness of El Holgazán to the refined complexity of Marta Maté, Los Perejiles, and Primordium, each wine tells a unique story.
