Marta Maté is a modern success story, crafting outstanding small-batch wines with a minimalist approach. Amidst a region of over 300 wineries predominantly reliant on machine harvesting (85%), Marta Maté chose to stand apart. Their project embraced three core principles: Prime Location, Biodiversity, and Minimal Intervention.
Marta Maté embodies the allure of Ribera del Duero—a delectably complex wine. Its bouquet reveals blackberries, floral notes, with subtle hints of fig and spice. On the palate, there’s a velvety texture with vibrant acidity and a lingering finish
The grapes were hand harvested from vines that are more than 100 years old, within vineyards located at 930 metres altitude. Once at the winery, only the best grapes were selected and were fermented using indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. The wine was then aged for 14 months French oak barrels with a final blending afterwards in concrete tanks.
