Bossanova crafts modern expressions of indigenous Abruzzo grapes. Their biodynamic farming, minimal intervention approach yields wines bursting with unique character and personality.
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is an easy drinking deep purple red wine, with fragrant aromas of plums, dark cherries and a sprinkle of pepper. On the palate, the fruit persists and strikes a nice balance between acidity and rounded tannins, accentuated by a subtle sweetness that lingers through its finish
The vineyard for Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is located at 230 metres altitude in Controguerra on clay soil. The vines are 40-50 years old. The grapes were hand harvested, pressed and macerated for 10 days and spontaneously fermented using indigenous yeasts. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 12 months in concrete, followed by bottling. This wine is not fined, nor filtered.
