JauJau 1er Rouge is their premium red, sourced from top tier plots with black marl and brown schist soil. This is an easy drinking style that’s versatile for any occasion. A deep ruby shade, this wine reveals a bouquet of ripe red fruits intermingled with spices that flow seamlessly to the palate. Supported by vibrant acidity and silky tannins, it’s truly an elegant full-bodied wine.
The grapes were hand harvested, destemmed and fermented, then underwent malolactic fermentation. Following this, two thirds of the wine was aged for 9 months in oak barrels while the remained rested in the vats. After aging, the two wines were blended and the finished wine was bottled.
