Las Pedreras is the rising star in Spain’s most up and coming Sierra de Gredos, a mountainous region west of Madrid. Barbara Requejo Frutos is the young and gifted winemaker behind this boutique project, artfully displaying her expertise through the creation of elegant, high altitude wines.

Linarejos offers a dancing perfumed nose of white flowers, white fruit and graphite, which extends to the palate with a velvety texture. A lovely tension and structure from the Albillo Real grape.

The grapes were hand harvested from a single vineyard in Cebreros on pink granitic sandy soils. The vineyard dates back to 1921 and is managed with dry farming. There was a small amount of skin maceration before pressing and fermentation to enable some tannins to extend structure and length to the wine. After 7 months of oak aging, a small quantity of sherry was blended because Albillo Real works very well with Flor (the thin layer of yeast cells)
